It’s normally recommended that you visit a dentist for a check-up every six months or sooner; as advised by your dentist. A thorough examination of your mouth, teeth, gums and any previous restoration work will be carried out. We will also screen for the various signs of oral cancer as part of your heath check.
Dental Examination: Regular dental check-ups enables decay to be spotted early and prevent the onset of further damage.
Periodontal Examination: Your dentist will assess your periodontal health (gum health) and look for indicators of gum disease.
Soft Tissue Examination: Your dentist will check your jaw joints, facial muscles and lymph nodes. They will also check your tongue, cheeks, lips and palate. They will be looking for lesions or ulcerations that may require treatment.
Further Tests: Where necessary, your dentist will take X-Rays, sensibility testing and other advanced tests to aid the diagnosis.
Your dentist will discuss their findings and device a suitable treatment plan to be followed. Advice on NHS and Private care is given based on treatment objectives. Any follow up appointments will be arranged if needed.
